Songs for You
(Volume 2 )
This man is what only can be described as legendary, this man has done more in one lifetime than what most of us could do in 10. He has lived a life of pure adventure, and it is that which gives me a new profound perspective on how I want to live mine.

ABOUT
Songs For You is an intergenerational arts initiative that connects teenagers with older adults living in aged care. Through a series of guided sessions, participants engage in meaningful conversations, sharing stories, interests, and experiences. These exchanges form the foundation for songwriting workshops, where the teenagers, inspired by their older friends, craft original music that honours their shared history and connection.
Led by intergenerational facilitators and musicians, the program fosters creativity, empathy, and sensitive communication through a combination of music and storytelling workshops. The process culminates in the public presentation of the songs, which are recorded and gifted to participants in the form of a nostalgic cassette.
Beyond the creation of music, Songs For You nurtures lasting relationships, bridges generational divides, and captures a collective expression of history, hope, and community, celebrating the profound connections that can be formed through shared creative expression.
It’s been good working with these two beautiful people; Kayla & Rowan. They’ve just been so nice. My two daughters said it was wonderful (the song). It covered a lot of the parts in my life and it was very nice for me, and I appreciated it.

I’ve learned how powerful music can be in bringing people together and creating understanding. It’s changed the way I think about older generations and made me feel closer to them.
